HammondWiki - Hammond Modifications

Here are some popular modifications which can be performed on HammondOrgans:

VariableChorusModification: A potentiometer can be added to provide variable chorus level.
PercussionModifications: EliminatingThePercussionVolumeDrop. ChangingThePercussionKeyingSource. Add a ParadiseButton.
ReverbRetrofit and PercussionRetrofit: Kits are availble that allow the retrofit of ?Reverb and Percussion to organs not originally equipped with them.
?PreampReplacement: Solid-state amplifiers are available to replace the tube preamp in the stock Hammonds. These are used often when a Hammond is removed from its stock cabinet and re-packaged to make it "portable" (see HammondChops).
AddingFoldbackToASpinet: One of the features of the ConsoleOrgans which is lacking in the SpinetOrgans is HarmonicFoldback. This can be remedied. You could also AddATenthSetOfContacts to your manual.
SpinetEMToPMConversion: Many older Hammond spinet organs were designed to use an ElectroMagneticSpeaker. Here's how to convert them to use a ?PermanentMagnetSpeaker.
AddingBassToASpinetLowerManual: One of the bigger shortcomings of a spinet, is that one can't play left-hand bass on them. (This is made worse by the fact that the pedals are not really all there.) This can be fixed.
MIDIRetrofit: Kits are available that allow the Hammond keyboard to be used as a MIDI controller. Most have no velocity sensitivity; some require a drawbar set to be removed from use to provide the contacts.
