Built from 1955 to 1974 the legendary Hammond B-3 console organ is the most recognized and desirable Hammond organ. These instruments are still widely used in Blues, RīnīB and Gospel music and can easily be identified by its four turned wooden legs (see the HammondWiki logo at the upper right corner of this page). It has two 61-note manuals and 25 pedals with the standard drawbar sets, presets, Selective Vibrato and Percussion. Like most Hammond console organs, the B-3 lacks internal amplification and speakers, so it needs to be connected to a Leslie or Hammond Tone Cabinet.
The combination of a B-3 and a vintage Leslie produces the famous "Hammond Sound".
