John M. Hanert was perhaps the most influencial engineer at the Hammond Organ Company. He was the inventor of about 70 patents that he assigned to LaurensHammond (it is very common for employees to assign the rights of their inventions to their employer). Hanert was more knowledgable about organs and music in general than Laurens Hammond.
