Electronic Musical Instruments by Richard H. Dorf was one of the first reference books available for electronic organ service technicians. Published by Radio Magazines, the first edition was published in 1954, the second edition was published in 1958 and the third and final edition was published in 1968. In the first edition, Dorf provides a technical description of the Hammond tonewheel, Solovox and Chord organs. There is also service information about Hammond competitors including Baldwin, Minshall, Conn (Connsonata), Lowrey, Wurlitzer and Allen. There are also some do-it-yourself instrument projects. This book is a storehouse of early vacuum tube musical instrument information.
