The driving gears are brass gears mounted on the main drive shaft of the ToneGenerator. These gears are connected to the drive shaft through a resilient CoilSpring to absorb vibrations caused by any irregularities between the driving gears and the DrivenGears. There are 48 driving gears, one for each pair of driven gears.
